According to coach Todd McLellan, Adam Larsson has been placed on the IR with an upper body injury and is expected to miss a week of game action. Let the good times roll!
The hits just keep on coming for the Oilers as Adam Larsson is the latest player to run into some injury issues. Larsson took the warmup before last night’s game against the Leafs but was pulled from the lineup shortly before puck drop. It goes without saying that losing Larsson is another blow that the Oilers surely didn’t need right now, and it will be up to the current top six to weather the storm without him.
If last night’s game was any indication, the Oilers’ defence by committee leaves something to be desired and they’ll have to lock things down to ensure a better fate than last night’s game provided. The Oilers gave up far too many chances in their own zone, and having Larsson out of the lineup certainly won’t help that. Fortunately, Larsson isn’t expected to be out of the lineup for more than a week barring any unexpected hiccups.
The question now is who will the Oilers pull up from Bakersfield? Will that soldier get into the lineup? Did Eric Gryba’s costly mistake mean that he’ll be sat in favour of whoever is recalled? We shall see.

According to Reid Wilkins, McLellan said that someone will be recalled and available for the Calgary game tomorrow.

Must be Simpson coming up. Jones has a few points but that -15 suggests he needs more time. Wonder how long until Bear is playing again?? He had a great start down there.

Well Oilers, we now have a great big long stack of reasons and excuses to mail it in…and there is only one reason to not mail it in. It is time to get this ship on track. Guys need to step up like Russell did last night.
Watching the game last night, it just felt different. It was like the team was getting confident. Then, after the game, I was mad they lost again, but for the first time in a while I was optimistic. Maybe it was because of the energy around the game, but I think the guys found their game during the night, and I think they found a rallying point after the game. I believe that they are going to be much more confident and have a much better top to bottom effort moving forward…I really do.
Baggedmilk…I hate beets as well. My grandma used to make me sit at the kitchen table for hours because I wouldn’t eat them, slimy cooked red garbage…tell you what, I am in!!! I will eat beets as well for every loss until they reach .500! Victory will be sweet!!
