Edmonton Oilers F Joakim Nygard has suffered a broken hand that will require surgery, the Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson reported Friday. Nygard suffered the injury Wednesday night against the Calgary Flames.

The season is slowly coming to a wrap, and the Injury Reserve hasn’t been too active as of late. Usually this is a time where players suffering from nagging injuries take the rest and rehab they need to heal themselves, however it’s nice to see that our roster is nearly 100% healthy.
With the season slowly coming to an end, and with the Oilers playoff hopes going down the drain quickly, I’m surprised we haven’t seen more guys fall out of the lineup due to nagging injuries. This is a good thing in my opinion and I hope everyone can finish up the season strong. Let’s take…
