The NHL has yet to hit the dog-days of summer for me. There is still plenty to talk about, and while the banter isn’t as frantic or fast-paced as the previous ten months there is still much to discuss. Let’s get to some rapid fire thoughts, notes and stats.
It’s Ryan Strome’s 25th birthday today and on behalf of Oilersnation, we would like to send our best wishes out to him.
With their third pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, the Edmonton Oilers made a move to stick around in the second round, trading the 71st and 133rd picks to Montreal in exchange for the 62nd overall section. With that pick, the Oilers drafted goaltender Olivier Rodrigue from the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
After taking a week off, I was back on the 95.7 Cruz FM airwaves to get the boys caught up on all things Oilers while also talking about anything else they wanted to get to including shots at the bar, and self medicating on cold meds when you’re sick.
With Ryan Strome signing last week, it seems like one of the last bits of housekeeping the Oilers have to get done is a new deal for defenceman Darnell Nurse. In this week’s What Would You Do Wednesday, I’m asking you what you would do with Darnell Nurse’s next contract?
